The official press conference for “The Icon of Muaythai: Buakaw – Small Steps… A Great Life” was held at Rattana Bundit University (RBAC), the institution where Buakaw completed his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The event brought together many of the most respected figures in the Muaythai community, along with fans from all over the world who gathered to celebrate the launch of an inspiring six-part documentary series chronicling the life and legacy of one of the sport’s greatest icons.

The press conference panel featured Buakaw Banchamek himself, alongside the President and Director of RBAC and the President of the Thai Media Fund, who joined in celebrating this milestone tribute to one of Muaythai’s most iconic figures.

Attendees at the press conference were given an exclusive first look at the documentary, offering a glimpse into Buakaw’s always-moving-forward attitude, the personal struggles he faced as a child, his extraordinary determination, and his journey to becoming a lasting model of excellence for generations to come.

A five-time WMC World Champion, Buakaw has earned worldwide recognition not only through his extraordinary achievements inside the ring but also through his unwavering commitment to promoting Muaythai and its values across the globe.

Since 2005, Buakaw has proudly served as the IFMA World Muaythai Ambassador, representing the sport on every continent. Through countless international appearances, youth initiatives, cultural exchanges, and major sporting events, he has helped introduce millions to the traditions, values, and rich heritage of Muaythai while championing the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.

The first episode premieres on Sunday, 19 July 2026, on Channel 9 MCOT HD, with new episodes airing every Sunday for six consecutive weeks.
